Chairman’s Reserve Spiced Rum

£29.00

Chairman’s Reserve Spiced Rum is part of a range of rums from St Lucia in the Caribbean, the rums produced on the island are renound for their full body and fruity style they have a depth of flavour that depicts the charm of the landscape where they are made.

Chairman’s Spiced Rum begins with the original Chairman’s Reserve Rum which is aged for 5 years, after aging the rum is spiced by steeping the botanicals for a further 6 months with cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, vanilla, allspice, lemon, orange peels and coconut and the special ingredient the fruit from Bois Bandé tree a local Caribbean wood culturally known for its aphrodisiac qualities, all this time and effort creates a rum exceptional character.

Tasting notes: The liquid pours a beautiful red to amber the nose is complex with vanilla and coconut that gives way to cinnamon and cloves, the first sip gives all the sweeter notes of vanilla but cinnamon and cloves quickly follow and build up to a crescendo of fruity spices with Christmas appeal and the exotic lure of the Caribbean.

Serving suggestions: of course it works well with coke and lemonade but it is with ginger beer especially a Jamaican ginger beer which has a lot more body and fire that it hits the jackpot. I use Chairman’s Reserve Rum and Chairman’s Spiced in my Mai Tai mix and I add it to other cocktails to blend the rums to give more depth of flavour. I find that Chairman’s is a rum that you can drink any time, through the day when relaxing in the sun or at night to wind down after a hard shift at work.
